San francisco opera drive in2/16/2023 ![]() ![]() The company will showcase San Francisco Opera’s eleven resident artists live in an open-air concert. The opera will be presented without chorus given health protocols and will star Lucas Meachem, Daniela Mack, Laura Krumm, Alek Shrader, Philip Skinner, Kenneth Kellogg, and Catherine Cook. The opera will be offered in a drive-in setting at San Rafael’s Marin Center and will open on April 23 and showcased for eleven performances running through May 15.ĭirector Matthew Ozawa adapted the opera into a 90-minute version with no intermission and will be performed in an English translation by Marcie Stapp.Ĭonductor Roderick Cox will make his Company debut leading an 18-piece San Francisco Opera Orchestra ensemble. San Francisco Opera stages its first live opera performances with Gioachino Rossini’s “ The Barber of Seville.”
